Osflo Hay & Silage Mix
This product was developed to keep soils fertile and productive. It does this by replacing the nutrients removed by hay and silage crops.
Hay and Silage mix boosts growth and replenishes potassium levels at the same time.
Growing silage and hay removes Nitrogen (N) in the greatest amounts, followed by potassium (K) and phosphorus (P).
Every tonne of dry matter harvested, removes around 5 kg of phosphate, 3 kg of sulphur, 2 kg of magnesium and 15 to 20 kg of potassium.
If these nutrients are not replaced, the ‘nutrient tank’ will eventually become empty. This results in a reduction in pasture production. Undernourished areas are also vulnerable to undesirable grass species and weeds.
Harvesting hay or silage removes large amounts of nutrients needed for ongoing pasture quality. Ensure ongoing pasture health by regularly replenishing these stores.
