Read some of our current team members’ stories to discover their backgrounds and how they came to work at Osflo. You may be surprised!
Josh came to Osflo Fertiliser after driving a forklift in the timber yard at Mitre10, and previous to this, spending 12 years as a barista. He heard about the job through a friend of a friend who currently worked here, and decided he was due for a change in his career.
Josh sat down for his storeman interview with his forklift license, no storeman experience, an awesome attitude, and an excellent work ethic. We offered him the job, and he decided to take on the challenge of the role. Osflo made sure he received all the training required, as well as future development opportunities.
Josh has now been with Osflo for 5 years. He’s completed his Class 1 through to 4 licenses, and first aid courses, and he is currently going through his loader endorsement.
Rob first arrived at Osflo September 2017. Believe or not, Rob completed his career cycle when he jumped back into a spreader truck. This came from his desire to take a break from the corporate world and focus on his family and his health.
As Dave Geraghty recalls it, “the first day he was here, we moved a water tank and Geoff got stuck. It was pouring with rain and it was absolute chaos, he must have wondered what he’d let himself in for”.
Rob spread and drove for Osflo before becoming the CEO of GC Group Management Limited, the holding company behind the Osflo Fertiliser, FBT and Windy Point Quarry brands.
Karl is one of our bulk truck drivers at Osflo and spends most of his time going from farm to farm in Osflo’s high-tipper truck. Karl got his licences a long time ago. However, he spent the last 25 years dairy farming across the Taranaki region and he didn’t put them to use until this role.
When Karl and his wife moved to town, it was a big change in career. After having a go in a security role, Karl decided that driving would be a good idea. Within 6 months of being at Osflo, Karl was put into the high-tipper truck and has been there for 5 years now as one of our experienced drivers.
